Title: 5 questions that never got answered {and one that did}
Author: thegraduate09
Word Count: 392
Fandom: Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Pairing: Thalia/Luke
Rating: PG13
Summary: Sometimes you don't want to know the answer. Spoilers for the Titan's Curse in chapter 1. Angsty, for now, too. I don't think there's going to be much chance for fluff. Rating's just to be safe, there's slight cursing and mentions of more cursing.
Author's Note: I'm planning on writing the next part tonight, so I figured I should cross post this over here and stop being lazy.
She'd been sitting on this bench, watching heat lightning strike across the sky, for at least an hour before anyone bothered her, and it probably would've been another hour if this boy hadn't ruined it by coming over and talking to her.
She doesn't think he's even aware that she isn't listening until she interrupts him, "Who are you?"
"Luke."
The last thing she expects is for him to actually track her down, after she's joined the Hunt, but his eyes are the same color they've always been and all signs point to he's alone, so she doesn't attack right away (even though she's cursing herself for being weak the entire time she doesn't), just goes into a defensive stance.
He doesn't even seem to notice, damn him, just starts talking and she's a little surprised, but that's quickly taken over by pissed, and the more he talks, the angrier she gets, and eventually she just simply cracks, and she acts her age by grabbing the nearest thing handy (a rock) and aiming for his head, but of course he ducks, damn him again.
Nothing really registers for a good five minutes after that, except an odd voice in the back of her head wondering if it's because of something he did that the other hunters aren't coming running, and if it is she should thank him, because it wouldn't be good for them to see her screaming just about every obscenity she can think of at any guy, because she's not supposed to care anymore, and she can't really decide whether or not she wants him hurt, damn herself, and if they came, he would be.
Eventually she runs out of words and energy, and he's still just standing there, and she finishes up with a question she doesn't want to ask in a tone of voice she absolutely hates, and that's as weak as she'll let him see her now, so she takes off running before the sound of the words is completely gone.
"Who are you now?"
"That's your name, stupid, that's not who you are." She snorts, looking at the sky again.
"Then I guess I don't know yet. If I sit down, are you going to hit me?"
Thalia smirked, "I don't know yet."
